Two Christmases ago, I took my then-new camera on a photo trip in the mountains about two hours east of Seattle. I was on a beautiful road with the Wenatchee River cutting a natural hydro-highway directly to the right. I got so many excellent photos that day, and now I’m planning on taking that same trip again this thursday or friday – depending on the weather.
One of the “sight-seeing” places along the way is a location called Deception Falls. Albeit easy to hear the roar of water, it’s very hard to see the waterfall because it’s hidden within clusters of trees. There was only one or two people there the day I went, but they were already leaving. So this meant I could be all alone to focus on photographing the falls – that and opening my senses to perfect Nature.
Anyway, that’s where I’m headed this week (again, if the weather is suitable). I only got to spend twenty minutes there that last time, so I’m planning on exploring the trails a little way along the river. I haven’t had the opportunity to do a major landscape/nature shoot in a very long time. I’m going to have one word in my mind while I shoot this photos, though: Portfolio. My landscape folder is looking pretty bare in my Portfolio, so I need to add to it. This is my chance!
